Concepts
The vocabulary is bigger than this. Most of it does not help you sit still, so it is not here. What follows is the load-bearing stack, in the order it is taught along the path — and every entry says how close it is to Campbell’s own words.
Consciousness
Not something your brain produces — the stuff everything else is made from. And not merely awareness: awareness that chooses.
Reality as information
Everything that reaches you arrives as data. Information is what a consciousness makes of that data.
The Larger Consciousness System
The whole of consciousness, of which you are one piece. Huge, but finite. Still growing up itself.
Physical reality as a virtual reality
Your physical world is computed rather than made of stuff — a reality frame with a very tight ruleset.
Avatar and ruleset
Your body is the character you play. The laws of physics are the rules of play. You are the one choosing.
Who you actually are
An individual unit of consciousness with awareness, memory, purpose and free will. The body is what it is currently driving.
Entropy
The model's measure of the quality of a consciousness. Low is the good end — which is the opposite of the intuition most people arrive with.
Fear
Anything that is about you. It shows up as ego, belief and expectation — and any negative feeling is a receipt for one.
Love
Not a feeling you generate. What is left when the fear is gone.
Ego
Awareness in the service of fear. Not the same thing as having a self.
Belief
What fills the gap when you badly want to know something and do not have the facts.
Intent
The why behind a choice — and in this model, the only part that counts.
Being level and intellectual level
Who you are, and who you think you are. Only the first one grows.
The data stream and intuition
Everything you experience arrives as data you then interpret. Intuition is the same stream arriving whole rather than in sequence.
Free will
The precondition for the whole thing. Without real choice there is nothing to learn from.
Meditation
A tool for quieting the intellect. Explicitly not the goal, and explicitly not tied to any one technique.
Point consciousness
Being aware without a body, a location, or sensory input. A waypoint, not a destination.
Open-minded scepticism
Campbell's own phrase, and the only stance the model asks you to adopt.
